b!X: Portland's outstanding citizen journalist

There are people in this world who, when you come across their work, you know you have seen something Great — with a capitol 'g'. Today's 'The Monday Profile' in The Oregonian newspaper, tells the story of just such a man, who's pursuit to report on local government in Portland, Oregon, I've come to respect and admire: Christopher Frankonis, better known as b!X.

Frankonis oversees a weblog which reports on local government in Portland, Oregon. It's the kind of in depth, studied journalism, that is becoming increasingly rare in our press.

This is not a man who should have to struggle to meet the rent while he is offering such an important, albeit unique, service to his fellow citizens. Portlanders should fight to support Frakonis' great experiment in citizen journalism; where are the patrons of this great city of Portland, who will use their riches to support the life and breath of society's growth? There is a man here, whom I think you should meet.

Thank you Christopher Frankonis.
